The progressive movements of the 60’s influenced the New Right in the aspects of feminism, abortion, and school prayer. Feminism in the sixties fought for their rights to birth control without having to be married and for the right to an abortion. they believed they they should be in control of their own bodies, and rightly so. They fought constantly for their opinions to be heard and finally they were taken into account and laws were changes. As for school prayer the diversity and liberalism of the 60’s influenced that it was unconstitutional to force children to pray in school, exercising their rights as American citizens. The New Right fully let the American people have their own rights and stopped restricting what shouldn’t be restricted in the first place.
